Watersports

Boasting world class watersports facilities, a 400 berth marina, a National Sailing Academy and Events Centre at Plas Heli and two beaches, some could argue that life in Pwllheli revolves around the sea.

The somewhat sheltered waters of the northern half of Cardigan Bay lends itself to being one of the most popular areas for watersport entusiasts in the UK and is ideal for sailing, powerboating, jetskiing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, and windsurfing.

Hafan Pwllheli is a friendly and popular marina. There are over 400 fully serviced pontoon berths as well as excellent onshore facilities. Access is possible for most yachts at virtually all states of the tide and we can accommodate a wide range of vessels from deep draught sailing yachts to large motor cruisers.

A full range of boatyard services covering yard movements, lift and scrubs, stepping and unstepping mast and laying up ashore is provided at the marina. Berth holders and visitors will also be well served by local marine businesses with a wide choice of chandlery, brokerage, engineers, riggers and a RYA training centre.

Opposite the marina is Plas Heli, the new National Sailing Academy and Pwllheli Events Centre. The centre is a focus for national and international sailing events, as well as people looking to learn new skills and get involved with the watersport for the first time.
